To ensure a safe bus ride to campus only campers and Summer@Potomac staff are allowed on the bus. We expect campers and families to abide by the rules listed below.
Bus Expectations
To ensure a safe bus ride to campus only campers and Summer@Potomac staff are allowed on the bus. WE expect campers and families to abide by the rules listed below.
- Each camper is expected to show respect for the driver and courtesy to all passengers. All rules that govern the camper conduct and behavior while on campus or participating in camp activities are equally applicable while riding the bus.
- Campers are required to comply with the bus driver’s instructions or directives.
- Campers must remain seated at all times, face forward.
- Campers are not permitted to change seats once the bus is in motion unless instructed to move by the driver or Summer@Potomac staff member.
- All of the campers' belongings must be in a closed bag.
- Campers should not talk loudly or scream or use inappropriate language.
- Roughhousing, throwing objects, or any behavior that could distract the driver or interfere with the comfort/safety of another passenger is prohibited.
- Campers are not permitted to eat, drink or apply sunscreen and insect repellent while on the bus.
- Campers should not sit in the driver’s seat or work the door handle.
- Campers should not put their hand or any other body parts or any objects, belongings out the windows
BUS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The above rules pertain to all Summer@Potomac campers on any bus for any reason (field trips, etc.) Summer@Potomac reserves the right to terminate a camper’s enrollment without a refund when a camper is unable to follow the rules listed above for bus ridership. These rules are also included in the Enrollment Contract (online registration form). Parents will be financially liable for any camper-caused damage to a bus.
We reserve the right to cancel a scheduled bus route stop due to insufficient ridership. To the best of our ability, we provide timely and safe delivery of campers to and from the campus. The Potomac School and Summer@Potomac assumes no responsibility for campers before they enter or after they leave the bus except on School property or when on Summer@Potomac supervised field trips.
